CCAC Hispanic Heritage Month Fundraiser to Benefit Casa San José

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) World Cultures Club is running a fundraiser in benefit of Casa San José, a community resource center that advocates for and empowers latinos by promoting integration and self-sufficiency.

PRESENTE spoke with CCAC’s Anastasia (Stasia) Lopez, a passionate career, culture, and international educator, who serves as the institution’s Director of Career Services and Co-Advisor of the World Cultures Club.

Stasia has followed the outstanding community work of the Sisters of St. Joseph over the years. She was thrilled when the Sisters first established Casa San José to serve the unique needs of the Latino community.

“Casa San José continues to be a place that I feel confidence in making referrals to, and collaborate with on different opportunities. They provide thorough resources for Latino individuals seeking comprehensive assistance. It was a great choice for our fundraising initiative,” said Stasia Lopez.

CCAC’s Hispanic Heritage Month Program also includes a virtual talk with PRESENTE Founder & Editor Maria Manautou-Matos, Overcoming Obstacles and Going After Your Dreams, on September 23 at 11:30am. Email Stasia Lopez for the zoom link: alopez@ccac.edu.

The fundraiser will continue until November 20, the last day of International Education Week at CCAC. Click here to make a donation!
