As many of us try to go about our daily lives, Coronavirus has made sure it is anything but normal. With announcements of increasing diagnosed cases in the US, many Pittsburgh and Western PA organizations have decided to postpone or cancel event plans, including Pittsburgh’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
In the case of our local Latino community, the lack of local Spanish language information available is a concern during this crisis. Our publication, PRESENTE Pittsburgh Latino Magazine, has already posted translations of announcements and press releases from our local government agencies.
Coronavirus has created an unprecedented situation for most of us and although the intention of media coverage is to encourage preparation and lessen cases in our local area, unfortunately the news has created stress and anxiety in all of us living in Western PA. We want to ensure that our Latino neighbors understand what is going on and what they can do to prepare given the situation.
PRESENTE Pittsburgh Latino Magazine is committed to doing everything in its reach to keep our Spanish-speaking readers informed and following the appropriate safety recommendations from the CDC and other health agencies.
Stay safe everyone! ¡Cuídense!
