The Latino Community Center is hosting an education workshop for Latino and Latinx students and their parents this Saturday, May 13, 2023. The workshop is being hosted in collaboration with Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) to help high school students start preparing for their college careers. Café con leche will be served at 9:30 a.m. and the workshop activities will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a number of presentations in both English and Spanish to help students and their parents start thinking about college.
Following café con leche the workshop’s activities will include a presentation about college admissions and a tour of the CCAC campus. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to learn about CCAC’s Latinx Club, tutoring opportunities, support for parents, and how to prepare for the workforce. As a wrap-up, there will be time for questions from both students and parents before the event closes.
