The National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a Convention in Denver, Colorado in November. The entire network, including 140 media organizations with 472 media outlets, is the largest diverse media organization in the USA.
During the event, NAHP presented its Jose Marti Awards, the longest running publishing awards recognizing Hispanic excellence in the United States. Awards include categories ranging from editorial writing, digital, design, photo & cartoon, marketing & promotion, and more.
This year Presente Pittsburgh Latino Magazine received the Outstanding Digital Award – Bronze in the Most Improved Website category.
“We are thrilled to have our new website recognized. We partnered with Re:Bloom to create the new site design, making articles and categories easier to access and navigate for our Latino audience in Western PA,” shared Pittsburgh Latino Magazine Founder and Editor Maria Manautou.
Presente PLM was one of only two Latino news outlets honored with the Jose Marti Publishing Awards in the state of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia’s El Sol Latino Newspaper was recognized in the state’s eastern side.
The 2022 Latina Publisher of the Year was Evelyn Castro from La Prensa Houston and the Latino Publisher of the Year was Brian Taylor with La Mega Nota in Columbus, Ohio.
