In partnership with CDC Foundation and the National Hockey League, the Latino Community Center (LCC) is working to get all Latinos vaccine-ready and vaccinated by Summer 2021. Over the next several months, LCC will assist Latinx families with scheduling vaccination appointments and ensuring they have access to translation and interpretation resources for these appointments as needed. They are also administering a vaccine survey to Latinx community members about vaccination options and interest in getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
If you are in need of transportation to your vaccine appointment, LCC can help! LCC has partnered with Uber to offer free rides to and from vaccination appointments for anyone who needs transportation. You can receive a free ride to and from your first and/or second dose appointments.
To sign up for a vaccine appointment, take the COVID-19 vaccine survey, and/or to receive additional information about vaccination options and transportation, interested individuals should call the LCC at 412-335-7446 and select Option 6. LCC will ask for:
- Your name
- Your date of birth
- Your phone number
- Your home address (if you would like an Uber ride to your vaccine appointment)
The LCC will not ask for any medical information or social security information.
Additionally, the first 400 individuals who complete a vaccine survey will receive a $5 gift card! LCC’s Vaccine Readiness Campaign is part of the Family Center programming supported by the Family Services Network of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. The LCC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to Empower, Advocate with, and Celebrate Latinos in Allegheny County.
